Head to this sophisticated gallery-museum if you are yearning to learn more about the Baltic coast’s famous symbol, amber. Study the outdoor amber exhibit and travel the amber road, which starts at the Baltic sea, through most of Europe and to the Etruscan lands in Italy. For a more hands on experience, try an amber masterclass where you can carve it with special tools and make your own lucky charm.
There is also a spectacular amber inclusions collection at the museum and exhibits from Juodkrantė’s lagoon treasure.
Visitors can discover the history of amber in English, German and Russian. You will hear about the fascinating journey of this ancient material, its qualities, colours, value and more. There are quirky items to see too: take a look at a machine that makes electricity from amber or taste some amber infused brandy.
Crown the visit with a spot of shopping in the gallery for authentic amber souvenirs and art.
