At the northern foot of the Parnidis Dune, there is the Valley of Silence, a quiet place surrounded by other dunes. To commemorate the restoration of Lithuania's independence in 1991, a roadside pillar was built at the beginning of the valley. This is where the Parnidis Nature Trail begins.
