The route is a unique chance to view one of Europe’s largest complexes of sand dunes and discover the long gone world of ‘kopininkai’, the people of the dunes. This canoe experience starts near the old lighthouse of Pervalka, leaves behind the Horn of Horses and enjoys plenty of the mesmerising views of the dead dunes on the way to the Horn of Nagliai. The guide will share the surprising and difficult life of the Curonian people, their world view and daily life. After a picnic, the route leads to the Bay of Drimzakas and then reaches the biggest colony of grey herons and cormorants in Europe, where over 3000 birds keep their nests. The route ends near Juodkrantė.
The excursion is suitable for inexperienced rowers.
