The first summer, free of pandemic restrictions, promises an unforgettable holiday in the legendary, probably the most unique Lithuanian resort – Neringa. In the kingdom of natural beauty, clean sea air, peace of pine forests and even three Blue Flag beaches, holidaymakers are invited not only to regain strength and inner peace, but also to immerse themselves in new discoveries of nature and culture.

This summer, Neringa presents a newly installed Parnidis dune educational trail, which leads through the western part of the mystical Valley of Silence and opens an unprecedented panoramas of the traveling sand. Along the way, there are wooden sunbeds and educational stops. Walking along the cognitive path, visitors will also be greeted by the audiovisual installation “Carbon Forest” created by artists Andrius Mamontovas and Jolita Vaitkutė last summer, which talks about the sensitive topic of forest protection.

The Nida lighthouse, which has become a symbol of Nida, will be waiting for guests who want to enjoy the nature of Neringa from almost 80 meters above the sea every day during the summer. The old lamp with Fresnel lenses returns to the lighthouse and will greet the visitors of Neringa with the magical ray on special occasions. On the way to the lighthouse, enjoy the newly arranged hiking trails leading to the Urbas Hill.

For those who want to navigate more actively, the renewed bicycle and pedestrian paths will take you not only to the main sights of Nida, but will also allow you to reach the great feature of Neringa – the always enchanting Baltic Sea.

The cultural events of Neringa will definitely fill the impressions of summer. In June, the Šeiko Dance Company performance-trip “LAIKAS NĖ(e)RIMUI” will be shown on the Curonian Lagoon and on the three piers of Nida. Spectators will step among the piers of the lagoon, where a dance inspired by the history and legends of the Curonian Spit will spread, installations will be seen, and unique artistic-historical stories will be heard through the headphones. The most spectacular performance of the Lithuanian Capital of Culture project will be shown on June 4, 5, 10 and 11.

The much-welcomed return is the Herman Blode hotel museum. Around 1890 a colony of Nida artists was born in the Blode Hotel and flourished there untill the First World War: not only famous Western European painters gathered here, but also writers, composers, musicians and actors. Herman Blode hotel museum is about to open up in July.
While staying in Nida discover the space of the “Arts Zone”, located in the territory of the former fishery farm. Here, continuing the brightest initiatives born in Neringa during the Lithuanian Capital of Culture, visitors will be delighted by professional art events, performances.

This summer Museum of the History of the Curonian Spit (Pamario str. 53, Neringa) introduces a new interactive exhibition “The Road” to present the special past of the Curonian Spit and the most significant periods of history from the Stone Age to the present day. The exposition is prepared in Lithuanian and English.

When visiting the peaceful Preila, we highly recommend to stop at the newly opened reconstructed heritage object – the Preila Library located on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon. Built in 1907 the historic Preila school has been authentically reconstructed this year. The center of community and culture of the village attracts not only by a choice of literature, but also by a cozy terrace for a quiet conversation or a book and a cup of coffee.
The outstanding summer events will also lead to Juodkrante. The theatricalization of the historic villa quarter in Juodkrante awaits here, which will take the viewer to the golden age of Juodkrante resort. The premiere of the performance-route will take place at the Juodkrante Resort festival in July.
More nature, more peace, more culture and warmth – it’s time to greet the unique horizons of Neringa, take a deep breath of the holiday air, feel the slower flow of time and leave your worries behind.
